Principal's Corner-

Welcome and thank you for visiting the St. Augustine website. My name is Tina Silvestri and I am pleased to be joining the St. Augustine community. As the newly appointed principal, I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful community. As a community diverse in culture, economics and beliefs, we cherish our heritage and are committed to carrying out our mission:

St. Augustine Catholic School spreads the good news by Navigating a Christian course, Educating body, mind and spirit, Worshipping the Lord and Serving others.

St. Augustine school and parish have been living faith in Richmond since 1930. To help inspire and prepare our students for the future, our teachers use differentiated instruction to meet the variety of learning styles and needs of the children in their classroom. With a faith based curriculum, Catholic identity is woven into every part of our curriculum.

As part of our Catholic identity, as students learn and grow with their faith, it is important that they learn to reach beyond themselves and recognize the needs of others. We strive to teach the students how to implement stewardship by following Jesus' command "to love one another".

Besides academics, we offer after school programs such as Chess, 4H, and Book clubs to name a few.  Our SCRIP program is a great way to earn revenue toward tuition. Our PTC Committee is an excellent group of parents and teachers that work together for the good of our school and students. We also have a school Advisory committee that assists in advising Fr. Joe and myself with important decisions about the school.

I invite you to explore our website and use it as a tool to help you learn more about our school and all we have to offer to help you become an active participant in the education of your child/children. To continue the success of St. Augustine students, we ask for your partnership between home and school to ensure families are informed with the most up-to-date information. To do this, please check the classroom pages and/or websites often and contact your child's teacher with any questions and/or concerns.

  Kind Regards and blessings,

            Tina Silvestri
